ARE NOW STOCKED IN SELFRIDGES

Manchester’s unique Northern Quarter dessert cafe has partnered with Selfridges to stock our international hit spreads and granolas in an exciting new listing.

The spreads, which won multiple awards at the 2023 Great Taste Awards, are so sought after that they see people travel far and wide to delight in our decadent desserts.

 Inspired by trips to the Amalfi coast, they have rich, sophisticated flavours and a velvety smooth texture. They’re perfect slathered on toast, baked into desserts like brownies and cheesecakes, or even stirred into porridge.

From day one, we dreamt of being a retail brand.

The concept for selling the spreads came about when one of our regulars in the cafe asked us to fill up an empty jar with our Kinderella milkshake base - hence the idea for the Hazelnut Cream spread was born.

In 2019, we launched our retail product range in our Northern Quarter cafe and online from the Black Milk website blackmilkcereal.com with help from the Co-op Apiary Scheme, which was designed to mentor small food brands and nurture us on our journey to create products that would fly off the shelves.

More recently, we have focused on working with retailers like Booths, Co-op, Modern Milkman and Delli to stock our delicious spreads in stores across the country.

Due to huge demand, our Pistachio Cream is currently sold out at every other retailer until early September - therefore, Selfridges are the only place you can get hold of a jar!

Oliver Taylor, Black Milk’s founder and creative director said: “Being stocked in Selfridges is a real delight. Growing up in South Manchester, visits to Selfridges were such a treat and always one of the highlights of my youth. The food hall has a wonderful array of indulgent food brands; seeing Black Milk stocked in-store is a dream come true. My favourite way to enjoy the Pistachio Cream is drizzled over pancakes with a scoop of white chocolate gelato, but I’ll let you in on a secret… sometimes I eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon!”
